COMIT
Communications and Mobile Information Technology www.comit.uk.com |
This Faraday Partnership provides a unified route from
photonic materials synthesis, through fundamental science
and development, to final manufacturable robust optical devices
capable of handling speed and density of Internet traffic.
Core research areas:
Photonic switching in large opto-electronic systems;Wave length
selective devices; andFuture technologies for displays and
information communication.

EPPIC
Electronics and Photonics Interconnection and Packaging
www.eppic-faraday.com |
The EPPIC Faraday Partnership co-ordinate’s the UK
industry’s research effort on packaging and interconnect
manufacture for the electronics and photonics sectors. It
will direct programmes into the priority areas of high speed/power,
harsh environment, integrated optical / electronic, high density,
high reliability, and low cost packaging.
|
High Power RF www.powerfaraday.org.uk |
High powered radio-frequency (RF) and microwave engineering
are key enabling technologies in a wide range of industrial
sectors. The purpose of the HPRF Faraday Partnership is the
development of a vibrant research, development and manufacturing
base capable of exploiting opportunities in high power radio-frequency
engineering in a manner which is internationally competitive
and which adds to the national wealth.
|
Imaging www.imagingfp.org.uk |
The focal point for Computer-based Imaging Research and
Exploitation Building on the expertise in 3D imaging generated
originally by 3D-MATIC, The Imaging Faraday Partnership is
now expanding its technological scope to encompass the wider
Foresight priorities in the area of imaging.
|
Intersect
Intelligent Sensors for Control Technology www.intersect.org.uk |
Intersect initiates new research and means for dissemination
of information on intelligent sensing and measurement systems.
It focuses on industrial requirements to analyse, control
and monitor manufacturing processes.
|
Medical Devices Partnership
www.medical-devices-faraday.com |
Key challenges to be solved include research in clinically
robust devices, improved materials and surface engineering
concepts and novel drug delivery systems; training to provide
cross-disciplinary skills and entrepreneurship; and the co-ordination
of existing networks and technology translation to build a
UK critical mass to lead future European and global research
and business programmes.
|
PRIME www.primefaraday.org.uk |
The Partnership focuses its skills on the complex issues surrounding
the design and development of Products with Interdependent Mechanical
and Electronic parts (PRIME). Typically, these are producing
" Smart Products" with complex and functionally integrated
mechanical, electronic and software components. |
