Field-Programmable Technology was once purely used for prototyping
and in-field upgrades. Volume production or special applications
like high-performance or low-power were purely the domain of ASICs.
This is no longer the case. While the cost, risk and time of ASIC
development spirals, FPGAs and related technologies are utilising
the latest processes to bring the benefits of the technologies
without the historical downsides. Suddenly using Field-Programmable
devices in volume production and special applications is not just
feasible but desirable.
This event will focus on the tools, techniques and methodologies
required as well as utilising case studies to highlight the challenges
and opportunities arising from the transition from an ASIC to
a programmable solution.
As always, in addition to the presentations and panel discussion,
there will be the opportunity to meet and network with attendees
from a variety of organisations ranging from fabless semiconductor
providers, IDMs, tool suppliers, foundries, design service providers,
IP providers, training, research and academic institutions.
