IMAPS-UK & NMI Two Day Technical Conference:

IMAPS-UK & NMI are holding a two day technical conference, networking dinner and tours of the SiC design, development and fabrication facility at Warwick University, Coventry CV4 7AL on 30th November & 1st December 2011, in conjunction with the University's, Electronics, Power and Microsystems Research Group (PEATER).

The event will provide the opportunity for:

•   Updates on the latest Power Electronic developments, devices & technologies
•   Networking between end-users, researchers, supply chains and technology providers
•   Business development opportunities for your Company & its products

 

Introduction:

Power Electronic applications are one of the key areas for the UK to develop Technology, Products and Manufacturing Processes.

Future products will be more and more enabled by the use of micro-devices and micro-systems, spanning all areas of application and opening new business opportunities. Not only downscaling from existing products to smaller systems and components but also new concepts as well as the integration of the technologies of interconnectivity and thermal management, providing smart system solutions to suit the needs of Renewable Power Generation, Electric Vehicles, Smart Transport Systems and other applications.

iPower will bring together leading experts in the field of power engineering from Science, Academia, Supply and Industry who will provide a unique insight into the latest developments.

This two day event will offer the chance to exchange innovative technical solutions and practical problems to stimulate new applications and to help to establish an infrastructure for a more cost effective, energy efficient future.

Summary of Technical Programme:

The conference will comprise sixteen technical presentations, (eight each day), divided daily into in four sessions, with refreshment & lunch breaks in between.  In addition, there are two laboratory tours each day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

The schedule is also designed to provide ample opportunity for networking with fellow delegates from leading organisations and institutions and to allow time to review the poster displays and booths from exhibiting Companies.

iPower will be hosting an event networking, three course dinner and drinks reception on the evening of the 30th November.

The Conference Dinner will also feature a keynote speech from Stephen Burgin, UK President of Alstom Grid and a "Best Poster" award presentation.

Places are subject to availability at £50.00 per person (+ VAT) and should be reserved at the Reception desk of the IDL Building.

Directions: Continue along the road past IMC – it bends to the right by building 56 – Sports Centre, then after Whitefields accommodation block comes the shops then the Students’ Union and then just when the next right bend is upon you there is a turn off to the left. Note that behind building 51 is Rootes Hall – No 50 – this is student accommodation.
