WORKSHOP 1: Creating a Connected, Digital Scotland
As the speed of fixed broadband communications has risen over the past ten years, available services have also kept pace, with email and web browsing giving way in bandwidth terms to music downloads, live TV, interactive gaming and peer-to-peer services. In turn, it's these new services that have created demands for higher download speeds and increased mobility.
With 73% of people now feeling that fixed broadband access is as important as access to electricity or water, the views of individual, business & community users about future services are important. This workshop will provide the opportunity to hear about the future of fixed broadband access and to give input on your interests and business needs.
Our presenters will share their views of future broadband technology and services followed by all attendees being invited to join the debate to help formulate a future roadmap of services and applications by joining the three special interest workshops:
- Creating a Smart Home
- Transporting Digital Britain
- Digitising the Workplace
WORKSHOP 2: The Broadband Wireless Revolution
The recent Digital Britain report highlights the tremendous opportunity the UK has in taking the leadership position in Wireless and Mobile globally. The key to unlocking this potential is to make the right decisions for the UK that will lead to the development and deployment of new wireless and mobile products, applications and services. This will drive investment in the development of new equipment, services and applications for our industry to exploit locally & globally.
Wireless Communications is the major driver behind the growth of the Digital Media and ICT industries. This workshop will provide companies who develop, adopt and deploy Wireless and Mobile services and applications, the opportunity to hear about the evolutions taking place across this sector and to give input on your interests and business needs.
Our presenters will share their views for future broadband wireless technologies and services followed by a debate which will help to help formulate a roadmap of services and applications through the special interest workshops:
