| The
CEESI programme is a collaborative venture between 10 leading Universities
in the field of Electronics System Integration, industry, and the
National Microelectronics Institute and is supported by funding from
EPSRC.
Essentially CEESI offers over 30 high quality modules covering
many aspects of Electronics Design including Digital Design, Software,
Processors, DSP, Analogue Design, Communications, and Manufacturing
and Test. All the modules have been developed in co-operation with
leading industrialists to ensure relevance and currency.
It is possible for engineers to take individual modules for retraining/updating
(Continuous Professional Development) and also to build up credits
towards a postgraduate award (up to MSc) at any one of the partner
Universities.
Flexibility is a key element of the CEESI programme. Distance learning
available for many of the modules avoids the inconvenience and expense
of travelling and enables study times to be at the engineer’s
own pace.
International research indicates that increases in labour productivity
resulting from targeted training can yield a return on investment
of more than 30 per cent. It is also well known that organisations
that spend the most on training and education are more innovative
and have lower staff turnover thus saving staff recruitment and
replacement costs.
