The NMI provides a broad range of services and resources in support of industry development. We encourage our members to be active in areas most applicable to their interests as this delivers greatest value. Our own research found that 85% agreed that 'active participation is required', whilst the remaining 15% strongly agreed.

Our Services include:

Industry Networks - knowledge exchange is a crucial mechanism for improving the competitiveness of our industry. Our technical networks focus on contemporary, advanced and emerging subjects whilst the business networks disseminate information, promote business development and encourage knowledge exchanges.

Best Practice Forums and Benchmarking - organisational efficiency is a critical success factor when competing in a global industry. Our best practice forums provide a method for members to access and share best practices in domain specific key areas.

Representation - the NMI is the voice of the semiconductor industry. We are in continuous dialogue with central and regional government departments in two-way discussions that express industry concerns, interpret the impact of government regulation and explore the potential for strategic and tactical industry investments.

Education & Training & Skills - 'upskilling' and the future supply of new skills to the industry is crucial to our long-term outlook. The NMI provides a mechanism for member organisations to influence academic content and vocational training programmes. We regularly meet and consult with organisations such as SEMTA (Sector Skills Council for Science, Engineering and Manufacturing Technologies), CEESI, IGDS and the ISLI who provide continuing professional development courses. Educational activities and priorities of programmes covering Research, Design and Manufacturing are channeled through our skills steering groups.

Operations Support

Publicity, advertising and sponsorhip - the NMI also provides a vehicle for raising the profile of our members in regional and global contexts through inclusion in our members listings, directories, reports, events and showcases. Members benefit from favourable web advertising and event sponsorship rates that are targeted at a specialist audience.

Reducing recruitment costs and skills loss - members can advertise vacancies free through our website whilst our consultants help guide those seeking work to career opportunities.
