In the UK, Alstom Grid employs over 1400 people in Stafford and specialises in turnkey projects for power transmission and power electronics based utility applications with extensive expertise with renewable energy as well as integrated SmartGrid systems. The UK business is the global competence centre for HVDC Converter transformers, and specialises in the design, manufacture and erection of large, complex and non-standard power transformers up to 800 kV and 2750 MVA. This offering is supported by an experienced service business offering maintenance, repair, retrofit, refurbishment and emergency support.
